The Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) of the University of Colombo is responsible for overall guidance and monitoring of Quality Assurance procedures in accordance with the document on Quality Assurance Commission circular 09/2019 that sets outs its work and functions.

History

The Center for Quality Assurance (formerly The Internal Quality Assurance Unit) of the University of Colombo was established in 2010 by then Vice Chancellor of University of Colombo, Senior Professor Kshanika Hirimburegama. The act was in line with the advent of subject and institutional review process being launched in Sri Lanka, by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council of The University Grants Commission.

The Center for Quality Assurance of University of Colombo is guided by the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) of the University Grants Commission, directed by the Standing Committee of Quality Assurance of the UGC, which functions as an advisory body for promoting Quality Assurance Activities of Sri Lankan state universities.
